How eBay.ca fees are calculated

eBay Canada charges a final value fee on the total amount of the sale in Canadian dollars — item price plus shipping and any tax eBay collects — of 13.6% up to C$7,500 per item and 2.35% above, plus a per-order fee of C$0.30 or C$0.40. Fewer categories have special rates than in the US: there are no separate handbag, jewellery or watch rates on eBay.ca.

Questions sellers ask

What are eBay's fees in Canada?
For sellers without a Store: a final value fee of 13.6% of the total amount of the sale up to C$7,500 per item and 2.35% on the portion above, plus a per-order fee of C$0.30 for orders of C$10 or less and C$0.40 above. The total amount of the sale includes the item price, shipping and any GST/HST/PST eBay collects. All fees are in Canadian dollars.
Which categories are different on eBay.ca?
Books, movies and music 15.3%; coins, paper money and trading cards 13.25%; bullion 13.6% or 7% above C$7,500 on the whole amount; athletic shoes 8% with no per-order fee at C$150 and above; guitars and basses 6.7%; heavy equipment, printing presses and food trucks 3% up to C$15,000 then 0.5%; NFTs 5%. Unlike eBay.com, there are no separate rates for handbags, jewellery or watches on eBay.ca.
How much does eBay Canada take from a C$400 sale?
eBay's own example: a C$400 phone with free shipping and 13% HST has a total amount of sale of C$452; the final value fee is 13.6% of C$452 plus C$0.40, which is C$61.87, plus a C$0.30 insertion fee if your free listings are used up, so C$62.17 in fees and C$337.83 to you. The calculator reproduces that example exactly.
Is there an international fee?
Yes: 0.4% of the total amount of the sale when the buyer is in the United States and 1% for any other country outside Canada. Currency conversion, when eBay converts funds, costs 3.25%.
Is there a Top Rated discount in Canada?
eBay Canada's selling-fees and seller-standards pages do not state one, so the calculator does not apply one.
